What is happening in California right now in terms of “bail reform” should worry everyone, in every single state. The liberal politicians there, who have a supermajority in the state capital, are doing what they always do: pushing what they want no matter the cost to public safety, and lying about it while doing it.
In this particular example, it is in regard to “bail reform,” which is not really about reform but is actually about removing bail altogether. All of this “bail reform” follows years of decriminalizing crimes while simultaneously releasing thousands of violent felons from prisons. The kicker to this whole thing is that at ever step, they have sold this to the public as ways to increase public safety.
Bail Reform Shot Down Just Last Year
California’s liberal law makers took a shot at bail reform just last year (2020) with SB 10, which ended up on the November 2020 ballot as Proposition 25. What that bill was designed to do was the end the cash bail system in the state completely. According to Ballotpedia, “In the California State Legislature, most Democrats (67 of 81) supported SB 10, while one (of 39) Republican supported the legislation.” The voters soundly defeated that bill, with 56% against it to 43% in favor.
Newsom Enacted Bail Reform by Fiat “due to Covid”
While the voters told the state no, Governor Newsom ignored their will and decided to enact the zero bail system on his own by using emergency powers all thanks to Covid. This actually went into effect before the November election, but still continues to this day. The liberal politicians running CA are more worried about the health of those accused of crimes from the Covid virus than they are about the health of the law abiding citizens being victimized by those criminals.
In fact, there is abundant evidence of the epic failure of this zero bail system. Criminals are loving the revolving door system as they continue to commit crimes with zero repercussions, crimes up to and including violent murders and sexual assaults.

Legislators Say “F The Public” As They Push Ahead with Bail Reform
Despite the epic failure of the zero bail system enacted under emergency authority, despite the voters telling the legislators no, the legislators who make up the Democrat supermajority running the California State Capital are ignoring everything that has happened and are once again pushing forward. Currently floating around the capital is SB 262, ludicrously titled “Safe and Resilient Communities Act of 2021.”
As is almost always the case with liberal politicians, they don’t care what you want, they don’t care what you said, and they sure as sh!t don’t care what happens to you, they are going to do what they want and tell you it is for your own good. So here they are, only months after being told to pound sand by the voters, they are getting ready to pass “bail reform” all on their own.
SB 262 is yet another bail reform bill that will make it easier for those charged of crimes to get back out on the streets, with less at risk should they decide to not show up for court. As someone not part of the criminal justice system, you might be shocked to learn that habitual criminals often do not keep their word and lacking proper motivation, often times fail to show up for their court dates.
This latest “bail reform” bill being pushed by the leftists is yet another attempt to reduce any level of personal accountability, or remove it altogether.

These a-hole leftist lawmakers are forcing bail reform onto the people of California, against their will, and most definitely to their extreme detriment, and they are telling the people it is for their own good. Whose side are they on? Who is pulling their strings? Who actually believes the crap they are shoveling?

There is a reason most cops support gun rights, and what these idiot, self-centered politicians are pushing is yet another perfect example of why civilian gun ownership is so important.
The politicians are making your lives less safe, while they simultaneously villainize the cops, while they defund the police. There are only so many cops, and that number is rapidly shrinking, which means now more than ever (in recent history anyway), your safety is most definitely in your hands.
Get a gun. Learn how to use it, and just as important, learn when you can use it. Then practice with it, get quality training, and then get more training. You are your own first responder.
